The FISH! Philosophy Network

Currently, our new employee orientation doesn't include any FISH! training. We do welcome new employees with an email that includes their picture, but don't introduce them to the FISH! Philosphy. My question is - How deep do you go into the FISH! training for new employees? Do you provide the full-blown training or some modified version?

I would add...If you have shown the video to all existing employees, and hope to reach a point where it is just "WHO you are" as an organization...you really ought to be showing it to all new employees too. At Ranken Jordan Children's Hospital, we show the video and spend about 60 minutes in discussion after. How do you plan to make this "who you are" (culture) if some of the newer folks have never been exposed?

Jay, those are great questions. Okay, I'll take the bait... It's been almost a year since we trained our entired staff. The goal was to change our culture. I wouldn't say we've made it entirely to that level, but there are signs that we're getting there. Hmmmm, that gives me an idea. Each business unit uses the FISH practices in their own way, so the HR orientation could be an introduction followed up by the individual business units.

Paula, I will answer your question with a question. :)
How is FISH! applied with the rest of the employees? Is it at the cultural level, or a set of goals or a set of nice things to do or aspire to?
How you train new employees needs to be consistant with how FISH! is received elsewhere.
