Suggestions for getting management to "walk-the-walk" of Fish

I work for a smaller 50+ employee company, and we have been successful in getting some management to accept the Fish Philosophy, although not everyone. However, we're struggling with the next step, getting any of them to actually apply the principles and act as examples. We would like them to help as agents so that we can adopt Fish into our culture. Any suggestions on getting them involved?

It is very important that your management team goes through the training program. Depending on your budget you can take professional help or create a presentation yourself. There are a lot of PPTs available on the net.

It's when they feel that Aha! moment is when they will commit completely to the FISH! philosophy.

Hi Sarah,
In addition to Char's excellent suggestions, I'd recommend that your managers and leaders invest in our LeaderFISH! video training program. LeaderFISH! helps leaders better support a FISH!-like work culture. Feel free to contact me at 800-811-5209 for futher info on LeaderFISH! Best of luck on your FISH! journey.

In order to create and sustain a FISH! like culture, it is essential for management to understand and embrace the FISH! practices, lead by example, and commit to bringing FISH! to their employees and there are a few ways this can be accomplished. First off you don't want FISH! to become a corporate mandate, rather you want them to see it as an invitation. We’ve discovered that when a leadership team experiences an invitation to FISH!, they, in turn, are better able to extend the invitation to others. This approach helps to ensure success and sustainability. SO as a suggestion here is something you should try: Ask the Leadership team to help you to form teams and then assign people from those teams as captains of each of the four practices. These people will be given the task of leading the philosophy within their groups which takes the responsibility of the managers to not have to add more to their plates (which may be why they are resisting) but rather provides them with a solution and a better working environment overall. Hope this helps!
