LeaderFISH!

I'm really interested in purchasing a LeaderFISH! Kit. I'm wondering if anyone has it and what they love about it? I want to develop my understanding and use of FISH! at a deeper level now that I've read several of the books.

I just finished my third FISH! book

Well, I did the whole FISH! thing a little backwards. It started with FISH STICKS and then I had to learn more. I bought Schools of FISH next and really got through that one quickly. Most recently I ordered FISH! and FISH! Tales. I got FISH! on Saturday, started it on Tuesday and quickly finished it. I can't wait to dig into FISH! Tales! I shared the Schools of FISH book and study guide with my supervisor. She is reading through it right now and appears to be intrigued. After I get that one back… Continue

Our VP for instruction, Larry Drucker, teaches FISH once a month here at the High School and we receive our continuing ED credits for attending. He is on the FISH network also.

Thanks Racheal, its interesting to explore why you write this way. I would love to be a "writer " of any description but have always found that my attempts at reflective writing only last about a week!
I enjoy writing on the Fish network because this gives me a record of our journey, but also gives me a reason to write, in response to others or their ideas, works best for me.
I'm interested in your attempts to work in the University sector, it seems quite a different process from here. I worked for about 5 years in our local University and started when I was about 26. Ihad a very good friend and mentor that allowed me to do some guest lecturing and when he got very ill he asked me to take over from him. I enjoyed my time there, but really prefer teaching or influencing younger children and my teaching staff.
Now it is somewhat harder to get into the university field with at least a PHD required for tenure, the pay here is quite a bit less than what I get as a Principal (which is not my motivation at all just a statement) though I guess the actual lifes tyle is less demanding?
Thanks for replying to me I have found your blogs and responses very informative

Rachael, Read your blogs and am really interested in who you want your intended audience to be, how you go about getting that audience to show interest in the blogs, and then how you intend to use the blog as an educational leader rather than "adminsitrator". Delete Comment

I would love to share with you some of the things that we do. First, we show the FISH video at each new hire orientation. We also encourage employees to come down and join in on the fun if they have already seen the video. We give out a FISH to every single person at our company. We have a rule that you are supposed to throw your FISH 5 times a day. We have a website internally that we post FISH pictures and good quotes. We call these inspirational quotes "fishisms". There are lot's of other things that I would love to share with you. Please, ask questions. Thanks. -Meredith

Some of the activities we've done are: cookie making, a fish toss, random acts of kindness week, speed networking, speed interests, grazing day (where we went from cube to cube and ate all day), and dance classes. Let me know if you'd like more info on how any of these work! :)

Welcome to The FISH! Philosophy network Rachael - hopefully you'll get some great tips from fellow FISH! folks on here.

Out of curiousity, how did you find us?

It's a small world! I'm happy to share with you some of the FISH activities that we've done to get our staff interacting with each other. That's really our goal more than anything. They enjoy their jobs and they are present, but need to put work down and have fun every now and again!

That's interesting. This is my first np that I've worked in (corporate world for 10 years) so I assumed all np's were warm, fuzzy, and happy like mine!
