The nicest thing I think I've done - My elderly neighbor was caring for her sick brother for over a year. One day she received a call that her son who lives in CA was very ill and potentially terminal. She didn't have any family or friends on the east coast and her brother was too sick to leave the house. She asked me to watch him while she was gone. Though I'd never met her brother and had only a few interactions with her (carrying groceries into the house, shoveling snow, etc.), I agreed. During the week I watched over him and helped him when he got sick. My neighbor was able to spend a little time with her son and I know how important that was to her.
What I'm doing this week. - I'm always trying to keep Fish alive at my work. I created "You Made My Day" cards. I'm attempting to find people making someone's day and filling out the inside with a description of what that person did. I'm leaving the card on their desk anonymously. This way I can remind people that they are noticed and maybe create a little buzz in the office, reminding people what Fish is about. We'll see....
