The FISH! Philosophy Network

I work for a bank and my director is so on board with the FISH! Philosophy. My plan is to launch it to our branch managers first at our monthly branch manager meeting and then I will go branch to branch to meet with managers staff and present it to them next. My question is--I would like to come up with some sort of preview/teaser (fun email hints, etc.) to peak their interest prior to our meeting and get them excited. Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I am not sure if you are still in this role.  Did you ever manage to get any tangible evidence that the programme makes a difference, and if so, what were the measures and results.

I recruited a few key people to help me and we printed different sized fish with bubble quotes to appear like the fish were talking. Each quote was tied to the philosophy, play, be there, choose your attitude, make their day. For about 4 weeks before we presented the philosophy, we would post a couple of new fish each day. The quotes were motivators for the team and it got people talking. I also put together a powerpoint presentation introducting the philosophy.I had been taking pictures of my employees at work (I tried to be sneaky, but not everyone was willing to play along) so they could see themselves in action. I then posted the pictures during the "choose your attitude" section of the presentation. It was great for them to see their natural expressions and to realize how different they come across versus what they think they are presenting.

As we introduced the FISH Philosphy and practices, I made up tickets to the PRMO Starfish Cinema for the premere of FISH! I popped popcorn and had snacks and beverages available. We darkened the room and viewed the DVD. It was a fun and relaxing way to get folks engaged.

Prior to the showing to all staff, I met with the Managers to get their support of the process, philosphy and practices.
We established a FISH! Committee, in which each Manager takes a turn chairing for a 90 day period. The committee members are made up from a staff member from each departmental team. The plan activities for their 90 days to include producing a monthly newsletter, monitoring a SPLASH (Peer to peer recognition) Awards program, participating in monthly teambuilding activities, and a quarterly game activity that involves all departments.

Hope you were able to launch the initiative successfully!

We did the foll:
- Screened the movie
- Asked for volunteers for the 4 areas (Play, Attitude, Make their day, and Be present
- These guys have been doing a good job, by conducting events every Friday

Hi Kelsey! We are doing the same thing for our 52 store managers. We are sending out the little individual Gold Fish cracker packets to each store manager's home address that just says "Catch the Energy, Release the Potential" July 1st 2009. Then we have the real invitations to follow.

These are great thanks ... we also changed our names e.g. I was Fiona Whiting instead of Whitling and my boss was Tony Fishpatrick instead of Fitzpatrick ... really helped get everyone in the spirit!
